We LOVED seeing your sketch-inspired projects over the past month. Unfortunately, we didn’t have quite enough participants to declare a winner, but we really want to thank you so much for participating in Challenges #31 & 32.

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #33! Our theme this month is circles! You can interpret this however you like — using a radial pattern, the stencils 360, circle diecuts, anything and everything circles! I still had all my holiday stamps out and challenged myself to use them to create a non-holiday card. I used several stamps from the Minimalist Christmas Trees stamp set and varying shades of teal to create a circular pattern stemming from the center point. I stamped and white heat-embossed the “happy birthday” sentiment from Enchanting Paris on teal cardstock and cut it out with a circle die. I used a die one size larger to create a matte using glitter paper.

Next, I adhered my sentiment circle onto the glitter matte circle, and then adhered this to the center of the card. I also added two strips of teal cardstock to the sides of the card. To finish the card off I added some small embellishments to enhance the circular pattern.

The Everything Christmas Stencils 360°™ has been my go-to for beautiful and quick holiday cards! I used my blending brushes and a mix of distress and dye inks to cover a 7 inch square panel. This stencil allows you to easily blend each piece in a different colour ink without having to do any masking.

Once the panel was blended, I cut it down to 4.75 x 6.75 inches, and mounted it onto a 5 x 7 inch card base I made from Santa Heavyweight Premium Cardstock. I white heat-embossed the ‘Tis the Season to be Jolly sentiment from the Magical Christmas Sentiments stamp set on black cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. I popped the sentiment up on some foam tape and added some gold sequins and geld pen accents to finish off the card.

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #31! The holidays are only a couple months away — there are many celebrations this time of year, but even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, we hope this warm color palette will inspire you to create a fun project!

I started by die-cutting two mittens using the Mason Jars and Mittens Shaker Tags. I cut one from red, and the other from green, Heavyweight Premium Cardstock. I swapped the leaves and berries to inlay them into the opposite mitten and added some gold marker to the circles near the wrist.

Next, I created by background using stencil A from the Gazania Stencils 360°™ and turning it at 22.5 degree intervals. I blended half of the stencil in red dye ink and the other half in green, and then cut down the panel. I stamped a sentiment from the Magical Christmas Sentiments stamp set and die-cut it out with the coordinating dies. Finally, I adhered the mittens and sentiment to my ink blended panel and added some gold sequins to finish off the card.

I started by using blue dye ink to blend three diamonds using the Diamonds Geo Stencils 360°™. I started with the one in the center and moved the stencil up and down a few inches to blend each of the other diamonds mirroring the sketch. Next, I stamped and Copic-colored three of the animals from Beautiful Africa, die-cut them out with the coordinating dies, and adhered them in the center of my diamonds.

Before I adhered my card panel onto my card base, I blended some teal dye ink around the edges to create a matte. Finally, I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from Enchanting Paris to finish off the card!

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #29! This month we have a fun back-to-school/stationary themed color palette. I love seeing all the stationary and back-to-school supplies lining the store shelves this time of year (and I, myself, have already been back in school for 2 weeks!) — so I thought this would be a perfect color palette for this month!

Today I wanted to show a technique for using smaller stamped images — there are so many cute images incorporated in many Penguin Palace Stamps sets and I love finding ways to get more use out of them! I stamped a whole bunch of the two little tree images from the Enchanting Paris stamp set and die-cut them out using the coordinating dies. Then I Copic-colored them in colors inspired by this month’s color palette.

Next, I die-cut the Sidewalk Scene Builder from grey cardstock and cut it down to fit across the bottom of my A2 sized top-folding notecard. A arranged my tree images along the sidewalk and adhered them down once I was happy with their placement. Finally, I stamped the thank you sentiment from My BFF to finish off the card.
